A feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease about something with an uncertain outcome

Anxiety can manifest itself in a number of ways but some of the things to look out
for are:

  • A general feeling of anxiety every day, without knowing what it relates to.
  • Irritability, frustration and impatience.
  • Increased consumption of alcohol or cigarettes.
  • A change in eating habits.


Some physical signs are:

  • Tummy cramps or butterflies
  • Excessive sweating
  • Increased heart rate
  • Dry mouth
  • Tight chest
  • Migraine or tension headaches
  • Gastric ulcers
  • Disturbed sleeping pattern
